Portrait of Professor Norton was presented to the College by his family on Alumni Day, Thursday, May 30, 1912. (Chironian, May 1912, p.599.).

"As a lecturer he could not be surpassed. Firmly convinced of the inferiority of the didactic lecture as a method of instruction, his hours were distinctly clinical, and at some expense of time and trouble he was always suppled with material to illustrate his subjects. Eloquent, clear, incisive, methodical, practical, his lectures were models of extemporaneous teaching."  (Chironian, February 20, 1891)
