Citation Searching: Web of Science and Google Scholar
Goal -- To provide an overview and teach practical skills in the use of citation searching databases.
Objectives -- By the end of this class participants will be able to:
Want to know how often your work is referenced in other papers? Would you like to receive alerts whenever you are cited? Want to know the most frequently-cited papers on a topic of interest? We can show you this, and more at a special “Citation Searching” workshop. Databases covered will include Science Citation Index/Social Science Citation Index and Google Scholar. The differences and strengths of both will be explored in this hands-on workshop.
Here's how it works: Use the button above to sign up and when three people do the same, we will initiate a Doodle poll to attempt to find a mutually convenient time for you. If it takes longer than a month we will schedule regardless.
If you have a more immediate need, you can schedule a one-on-one consult with a librarian here: http://library.nymc.edu/services/consultation-form.cfm
