For Faculty

  • Request a Class - NYMC Librarians are committed to developing the information literacy skills of our patrons: recognizing when there is a need for information, what types of information are needed, and how to locate, evaluate, utilize and manage the appropriate resources.
  • Request resources (book, video, journal) - Faculty are encouraged to request additional materials that support the curriculum in their area of expertise. These materials improve the library's general coverage and support independent student and faculty research. Requests may be made in person, by e-mail, phone or via the library website. The Library collection development manual is available online.
  • Course Reserves Request - Faculty are strongly encouraged to notify the Library of all required textbook titles to be placed on reserve prior to the beginning of the semester. Textbooks are purchased by request from Faculty. They are not automatically purchased by the Library.  Please notify the  Library when required texts are changed.
  • InterLibrary Loan -  Request an interlibrary loan for items not owned by the Library using the Interlibrary Loan form.

There is no charge for this service. It is available only for current NYMC students, faculty, staff. The Library reserves the right to limit the number of requests an individual submits in a given time period. The Library follows copyright guidelines and interlibrary loan requests in excess of “fair use” may incur copyright charges.

Please check the library catalog first to be sure the library does not own an item prior to requesting it.   Articles may be supplied within several days, however print materials such as books are generally supplied by mail and may take a week or longer.
