uCentral App

uCentral

uCentral is the only all-in-one app that delivers the information a clinician or trainee needs at the point of care. uCentral gives libraries and institutions the power to deliver trusted medical reference content, valuable tools, and full-text journal articles directly to their patron’s mobile devices. With uCentral, each institution creates a customized aggregation of quick-reference content and makes it available to all of their patrons.

NOTE: Whenever you access the library's resources from off-campus, remember to log into the library proxy network before navigating to the resources you want to use.


Registering for a uCentral Account

In order to access the app, you must have a uCentral account.  To create a uCentral account, follow the instructions below: 

  1. From the library homepage, click on uCentral / Unbound Medicine link found under the Quicks Links* sidebar on the left.
  2. On the uCentral homepage, click on the Sign in button in the upper, right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Click on the Register button.
  4. Click the Continue button for the first uCentral product.
  5. Fill out the registration form.
    • NOTE: You do NOT need to use your NYMC email address to create an account.

Installing the App for the First Time
  1. Go to the App Store/Google Play Store.
  2. Type uCentral into the search box.
  3. Download the app to your phone.
    • NOTE: Make sure you have enough room on your phone before starting the download.
  4. Once the app is installed, click on the app's icon on your phone to access it.
  5. You will prompted to log in using your uCentral username and password.
  6. After you login, the system will begin downloading the app's contents. 
  7. After it finishes updating the app content, you will be able to use the app as needed.
