How Do I Register my ID at the Printer?

  1. Walk up to any of the 6 printers (SHSP Computer Lab, MEC Modules, BSB Library, Skyline Library).
  2. Place your ID on the badge reader on the left side of the printer.
  3. Touch the white box next to User Name.
  4. Type your NYMC login, then touch OK.
    • Note: You can use the external keyboard mounted on the right side of the copier if you don’t like the touch screen keyboard.
  5. Touch the white box next to Password.
  6. Type your NYMC login password, then touch OK.
  7. Touch the login icon at the bottom right to register/login.

After you successfully register, you can use your ID to log into the printer, or you can always login with your NYMC network account by touching the login icon at the bottom right.

How Do I Add Money to My Printing Account?

Students and guests are required to fund their print and copy costs in order to provide an environmentally friendly campus, and to encourage the most efficient use of college resources.

Funding your Print/Copy account online can be done with a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account.

  1. Go to the payment gateway website: https://uniflowgway.nymc.edu/ig/budgetrecharge/index.php
  2. Use your NYMC network login credentials for User Name and Password.
  3. After you’re logged in, click the Budget recharge link on the right.
  4. Enter your amount without decimals in whole dollar amounts.
  5. Wait for initializing.
  6. This page will transfer you to a secure PayPal transaction page.
    • Note: You will have the option to pay with personal PayPal account or as a Guest with a credit or debit card. 
  7. After the transaction is complete, it may take a few minutes to show on your account.

How Do I Print from Public Computers?

  1. Login to the public computers with your NYMC network account.
  2. Select your printer.
    • Select the Black (on uniflowserv) printer to submit jobs that you want printed in black only. Black print jobs will appear at all copiers.
    • Select the Color (on uniflowserv) printer (if possible) to submit jobs that you want printed in color only. Color print jobs will only appear at the black/color copier in the library.
  3. Use your NYMC ID or NYMC Network Login information to log into the copier.
  4. Select Secure Print.
  5. Select the item(s) that you want to print or click on the Select All button.
  6. Click Print+Delete to release your prints.

Note: Remember to log out once you are finished printing.

How Do I Print from my Computer?

NYMC Black Printer Queue Setup for Mac v10.6 – v10.11

  1. Go to the Printing, Scanning, and Copying Documentation box to download the Mac BLACK print driver ZIP file.
    • Note: Safari may automatically extract the 6255 PPD file to your downloads folder.
  2. If necessary, double click the downloaded zip to extract the 6255 PPD driver file.
  3. Reboot your Mac, click the Apple Icon at top left, and then click System Preferences.
  4. Click on the Print & Scan/Fax icon.
  5. Click the + sign and select add a printer.
    • If the Advanced tab does not appear, Right-Click or Ctrl-Click and select Customize Toolbar.
    • Drag the Advanced icon into the toolbar and click Done.
  6. Click Advanced and set Type to LPD/LPR Host or Printer.
  7. Enter the following:
    • URL: lpd://nymc_username@uniflowserv.nymc.edu/Black
      • Replace “nymc_username” with your NYMC Login Name. 
    • Name: NYMC Black (or something similar)
    • Use: Other… (to select the driver extracted in Step 2)
  8. Browse to the 6255 PPD driver file download/extracted in Steps 1 and 2 and click Open and Add.
  9. Set all options Off/unchecked and click OK.
  10. Your Print queue is ready.
    • Note: You must re-boot your Mac before using black printer! 
    • Note: You must be connected to the NYMC_SECURE wireless to submit print jobs.

Jobs submitted to this queue are BLACK only and can be released from the printers located in the School of Health and Science Practice ground level student lounge, MEC modules, and the Main and Skyline libraries.

NYMC COLOR Print Queue Setup for Mac 10.6 – 10.11 (Main Library ONLY)

  1. Go to the Printing, Scanning, and Copying Documentation box to download the Mac COLOR print driver ZIP file. 
    • Note: Safari may automatically extract the 7055 PPD file to your downloads folder. 
  2. If necessary, double click the downloaded zip to extract the 7055 PPD driver file. 
  3. Reboot your Mac, then click the Apple Icon at top left, click System Preferences. 
  4. Click on the Print & Scan/Fax icon.
  5. Click the + sign and select add a printer. 
    • If the Advanced tab does not appear, Right-Click or Ctrl-Click and select Customize Toolbar. 
    • Drag the Advanced icon into the toolbar and click Done.
  6. Click Advanced and set Type to LPD/LPR Host or Printer. 
  7. Enter the following:
    • URL: lpd://nymc_username@uniflowserv.nymc.edu/Color
      • Replace “nymc_username” with your NYMC Login Name.
    • Name: NYMC Color (or something similar)
    • Use: Other… (to select the driver extracted in Step 2) 
  8. Browse to the 7055 PPD driver file download/extracted in Steps 1 and 2 and click Open and Add.
  9. Your Print queue is ready.
    • Note: You must re-boot your Mac before using color printer!
    • Note: You must be connected to the NYMC_SECURE wireless to submit print jobs.

Jobs submitted to this queue are COLOR only and can be released ONLY from the color printer (at the color price) located in the Main Library. Print ONLY the pages of your document that you want in color.

NYMC BLACK Printer Queue Setup for Windows 7/8/10

  1. Go to the Printing, Scanning, and Copying Documentation box to download the appropriate driver.
  2. Double click the executable, browse to the desktop, and click unzip.
  3. Open the extracted folder from you desktop and double click the setup file. 
  4. Select Custom and click Next.
  5. Select Add New Printers and click Next.
  6. Check off Canon iR-ADV 6255/6265 PS3 and click Next.
  7. For printer name type: NYMC Black (or something similar).
  8. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, click OK, and click Next. 
  9. For Printer Name or IP Address enter: uniflowserv.nymc.edu and click Next.
  10. For port information choose Custom and click Settings.
  11. Change the Protocol to LPR, the Queue Name to BlackLPR, check off LPR Byte Counting Enabled, and then click OK and Next to continue.
  12. Click Start to Install the printer.
  13. Upon completion exit the installer and reboot. 
  14. After you reboot, navigate to your installed printers
    • Windows 8/10 users: Swipe or right click start menu navigate to control panel and open devices and printers.
  15. Right-click on NYMC Black and  click Printer Properties (Windows 7/8) or Properties (XP/Vista).
  16. Click Device Settings and check off Set User Information(L)
  17. Click on Settings(W) and then enter your NYMC Login Name in the User Name field.
  18. Make sure that everything else is left blank and unchecked then click OK and OK again. 
  19. Your print queue is ready to use.
    • Note: you must be connected to the NYMC_SECURE wireless to submit print jobs. 

Jobs submitted to this queue are BLACK only and can be released from the printers located in the School of Health Science and Practice ground level student lounge, MEC modules and the Main and Skyline libraries.

NYMC COLOR Queue Setup for Windows 7/8/10 (Main Library ONLY)

  1. Go to the Printing, Scanning, and Copying Documentation box to download the appropriate driver executable (select the 32-bit driver or 64-bit for Windows).
  2. Double click the executable, browse to the desktop, and click unzip.
  3. Open the extracted folder from you desktop and double click the setup file.
  4. Select Custom and click Next.
  5. Select Add New Printers and click Next.
  6. Check off Canon iR-ADV C7055/7065 PS3 and click Next.
  7. For printer name type: NYMC Color (or something similar).
  8. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, click OK, and click Next.
  9. For Printer Name or IP Address enter: uniflowserv.nymc.edu and click Next.
  10. For port information choose Custom and click Settings.
  11. Change the Protocol to LPR, the Queue Name: to ColorLPR, check off LPR Byte Counting Enabled, and then click OK and Next to continue.
  12. Click Start to Install the printer, upon completion exit the installer and reboot.
  13. After you reboot, navigate to your installed printers.
    • Windows 8/10 users, Swipe or right click start menu navigate to control panel and open devices and printers.
  14. Right-click on NYMC Color and click Printer Properties (Windows 7/8) or Properties (XP/Vista).
  15. Click Device Settings and check off Set User Information(L).
  16. Click on Settings(W) and then enter your NYMC Login Name in the User Name field.

How Do I Release Jobs I've Sent to the Printer?

  1. Login to the printer with your NYMC ID or network account.
  2. Select Secure Print. 
  3. Select the item(s) that you want to print or click on the Select All button. 
  4. Click Print+Delete to release the selected prints.

Note: Remember to log out after you are finished printing.

How Do I Print Single-Sided?

For environmental reasons, all newer print drivers default to double-sided, so if you need to print single-sided, you have to switch before submitting the print job.  To switch to single-sided printing: 

  1. Click File --> Print for the document you want to print.
  2. In Settings, there should be an option that says either Print on Both Sides or Print Double-Sided.
  3. Click on that setting to change the option to Print Single-Sided or Print One-Sided.
  4. Click Print.

How Do I Make Copies?

  1. Login to the printer with your NYMC ID or network account.
  2. Select Copy. 
  3. Load your original into the feeder or lift the top of the printer and place it on the glass.
  4. Use the number pad on the right side of the copier to set the number of copies you want printed.
  5. Select the color type (Main Library ONLY) and any other options you want applied.
  6. Press the Start button. 
    • Note: The printer will stop printing and notify you if you run out of money. You can logout and log back in and select Secure Print to view your current printing account balance. 

Note: Remember to log out after you are finished copying.

How Do I Scan and Send Documents to my Email?

  1. Login to the printer with your NYMC ID or network account.
  2. Select Scan and Send.
  3. Load your original into the feeder or lift the top of the printer and place it on the glass.
  4. Configure your desired settings (e.g. color, double-sided, etc.) from the right sidebar.
  5. Select the Send to Myself option. 
  6. Press the Start button.
  7. After scanning is complete, click on Start Sending. The file will be emailed to your NYMC email if it is less than 20 MB.

Note: Remember to log out after the system finishes sending you your document(s).
