2020 U.S. Election & Voter Guide

How Do I Use This Guide?

The intention of this guide is to help New York Medical College community members to participate in the 2020 election cycle. In this guide, you will find information on voting in New York or wherever you may be located. Including: 

Important Dates for the 2020 Election

Election day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020 but there are many other important dates you should consider.

Voter Registration Deadline

  • October 9, 2020

Absentee Voting by Mail Begins

  • September 18, 2020 
    • Your county board of elections must receive your online, mail, or fax absentee ballot application no later than October 27, 2020. In-person absentee ballot applications are due no later than November 2, 2020. 

Last Day to Mail Your Absentee Mail Ballot

  • November 3, 2020
    • This means that your ballot must be postmarked by November 3, 2020
    • You can also hand deliver your ballot to your local Board of Elections office on election day (November 3, 2020).

Early In-Person Voting

  • October 24,2020 - November 1, 2020 

 Election Day 

  • November 3, 2020.
    • Polls are open between 6:00am - 9:00pm
