Touro University and New York Medical College are pleased to announce the launch of a new part of Touro Scholar:

TouroData: Research Data Catalog of Touro University and New York Medical College.

The goal of TouroData is to collect the records of research data produced by Touro and NYMC scholars and hosted across multiple data repositories in one central location. This will improve the visibility and discoverability of these research efforts, as well as encourage collaboration and future research.

Here are some frequently asked questions about TouroData:

Can TouroData host my research data?

No, TouroData is a data catalog, not a repository.  If you need help locating an appropriate repository for your research data, you can schedule a meeting with a librarian who would be happy to help you. Once your data is in a data repository, we add a record of your research data to the catalog.

What kind of research data qualifies for a record in TouroData?

The data must be original. This means the data was collected or generated through your research efforts. Secondary datasets (such as data from the CDC or HCUP, etc.) do not qualify for an entry in the catalog.

The data must be research data, meaning it was created or generated for the purpose of asking a specific research question or questions.

The data must be hosted in an official data repository with a permanent link or DOI. Data hosted on private servers or computers cannot be added to the catalog because we cannot link to those places from the catalog.

The data must have been generated or collected while you were affiliated with Touro University or New York Medical College.

Can I submit my research data for inclusion in TouroData?

Yes, we’d love to include a record of your research data! Please complete the form on this website to submit a record of your data to the catalog.

ACP Journal Club is one of the added content features of the Annals of Internal Medicine. It summarizes some of the best new evidence in internal medicine from leading clinical journals, with a clinical impact rating, bottom-line conclusion, and commentary for each article. For example, September 2025's issue critiques an article from Stroke answering the question, "What is the risk for intracranial hemorrhage with apixaban vs. aspirin used for ischemic stroke prevention?"

Besides the original research one would expect, other features include:

  • In the Clinic - focuses on the practical management of common clinical conditions. September's issue provides an overview of chronic kidney disease, covering diagnosis, treatment, etc.
  • Annals Graphic Medicine - short, original graphic narratives on medically relevant topics, like the one from Yujin Kim, an undergraduate student at Brown University, double concentrating in Health and Human Biology and Visual Arts, on the term idiopathic
  • Annals Story Slam – doctors share brief stories with an audience in video form, building on the popular Annals’ feature, “On Being a Doctor
  • Annals Consult Guys – videos of a medical consultation “talk show” featuring Drs. Howard Weitz and Geno Merli
  • Beyond the Guidelines – multimedia grand rounds discussions on vexing clinical issues

Annals of Internal Medicine is available from the Capozzi Library.

EBSCO, Ovid, and UpToDate joined the library's first vendor fair in five years. We are so glad to bring back these in-person events to campus, where staff, students, and the library can come together and meet the people behind our resources. We had a fun-filled event where students chatted with our representatives and participated in games and a raffle drawing. The vendors supplied some of the prizes and giveaways! Prizes were:

  • 1st Amazon gift card ($50)
  • 2nd EBSCO Yeti tumbler
  • 3rd Dunkin Donuts gift card ($10)
  • 4th Starbucks gift card ($10)
