Access apps and mobile-optimized sites related to Library resources.

New Apps & Trials

Access the Health Science Library's journals from your tablet, iPhone or Android! Read by QxMd is an app licensed by the Library that creates a browsable newsstand of journals.  Download the free app from the Apple or Google Store, then log in using your library credentials, these will be the same used for remote access.

To download the APP:

  1. From your Android, iOS or Kindle Fire device, visit the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or Amazon App Store. Search for “QxMD” and download the app to your device.
  2. Tap on the app icon to open QxMD. Enter your account information. Go to Settings (the little wheel in the upper right corner), then Institutional Access, scroll to New York Medical College. Use Automatic Login Using Barcode, then enter NYMC.EDU login (email and password).
  3. Start browsing! Use the Subject dropdown menu to browse by subject categories or our Titles A-Z to find a specific title by name.


Clinical Key LogoThe Health Sciences Library provides access to ClinicalKey. Upgraded and expanded from MD Consult, this Point of Care research and "clinical insight engine" contains:

  • thousands of Elsevier's medical books, textbooks and very current journals
  • Procedures Consult's procedural videos
  • the First Consult POC information
  • additional videos and images, practice guidelines, patient handouts, and drug information from Clinical Pharmacology
  • thousands of clinical and other medical images and videos
  • CME credits via the Cleveland Clinic

This resource is specifically designed to support physicians in evidence-based clinical care and clinical education, and also supports researchers and instructors with an included presentation builder for use with images and videos.

Initial Use and Authentication Instructions

  1. You must first create a personal account within Clinical Key
  2. From the Library Home Page (Logged into Network) Open Clinical Key
  3. At the top right of the Clinical Key page, click Register to create a personal account
  4. On your iOS or Android device, visit the App or Google Play store
  5. Search for "Clinical Key" and install the free app on your device
  6. After downloading the app, and enter your ClinicalKey username and password to start using the app.

The AccessMedicine app delivers indispensable support and invaluable point of care solutions for clinical practice through these mobile features:

  • Quick Medical Dx & Rx is a collection of concise evidence-based outlines of conditions and disorders most often encountered in medical practice – perfect for high-yield review or for quick reference in the clinical setting.
  • Fitzpatrick’s Color Atlas of Clinical Dermatology facilitates dermatologic diagnosis by providing color images of skin lesions, plus a summary outline of skin disorders and diseases. 
  • Differential Diagnosis Tool provides more than 1,000 diagnoses through Diagnosaurus®, a McGraw-Hill Medical tool that efficiently allows you to browse by symptom, disease, or organ system at the point of care.
  • Diagnostic Tests, from Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests, is a quick reference guide to the selection and interpretation of commonly used diagnostic tests, including laboratory procedures in the clinical setting.

To activate and for continued access to the app, the user must have an active My Access account and sign in every 90 days through your institution, either on-site or via the Library Proxy.
