ClinicalKey

ClinicalKey helps clinicians rapidly access evidence-based, peer reviewed information to improve speed to accurate diagnosis and treatment, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and lowering the high cost of care. Its features have been designed utilizing extensive research on the search behaviors and content preferences of doctors.

Registering for a ClinicalKey Account

In order to access the app, you must have a ClinicalKey account.  To create a ClinicalKey account, follow the instructions below: 

  1. From the library homepage, click on the link to ClinicalKey found under the Quicks Links* sidebar on the left.
  2. On the ClinicalKey homepage, click on the Login link in the upper, right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Click on the Register now link below the Log in box.
  4. Fill out the registration form.
    • NOTE: You NEED to use your NYMC email address to create an account in order to access the app from off-campus.
  5. Click the Register button.
Applying for Remote Access
  1. From the ClinicalKey homepage, click on the Login link in the upper, right-hand corner.
    • NOTE: If you are already logged in, you will have to log out for this process.
  2. Click on the Apply now link under the Remote access section on the lower, right-hand side of the page.
  3. Enter your NYMC email address and click the Continue button.
  4. ClinicalKey will send you an email with details regarding remote access.  Click on the activation link in the email.
  5. Once you open the link, ClinicalKey will prompt you to login to complete your remote access activation.
Installing the App for the First Time
  1. Go to the App Store/Google Play Store.
  2. Type ClinicalKey into the search box.
  3. Download the app to your phone.
    • NOTE: Make sure you have enough room on your phone before starting the download.
  4. Once the app is installed, click on the app's icon on your phone to access it.
  5. You will be taken through a brief overview of the app.
  6. Next, you will be prompted to choose your subscription edition.  Select the Global option.
  7. Next, you will be prompted to choose your version.  Select the ClinicalKey option (the first option).
  8. You will prompted to log in using your ClinicalKey username and password.
  9. After you login, you will be able to use the app as needed.
