Coil Binding

The Health Sciences Library now offers a coil binding service to the New York Medical College community. You can use this service to create spiral bound notes, manuals, or to rebind existing publications such as study guides, etc.

This is a drop off service; no appointments are necessary. You may drop off coil-binding ready materials any time during library service hours. It will take up to two (2) business days for a job to be completed.

Submitted materials need to be “coil-binding ready”:

• The Coil-Binding Form should be filled out at the time materials are submitted. Submit one form with each item to be bound.
• We can coil-bind documents of up to 400 sheets (copies will not be made by the library staff).
• If rebinding existing publication, covers and original binding / glue must be completely removed – if there is a residue we may have to reject and reschedule the binding appointment, as it can damage the machine.
• Tabs (dividers) and covers, if using, are available for purchase and must be purchased, put in place, and then submitted with materials for service.                        
• Pre-payment is required (department account, credit card, cash, or check).

• Base service fee: $5.00 per bound item.
• Covers (clear or maroon): $1.00 per set.
• Tab dividers: $2.00 per set of 5.
• Coils:  $1.00 up to 100 sheets; $2.00 101-400 sheets
