AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR STUDENTS!

NIDA-funded Substance Use Research Education and Training (SARET) Program - DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis between February 1 - April 19, 2024.

The NIDA-funded Substance Use Research Education and Training (SARET) program fosters health professions students' lasting engagement in substance use disorder (SUD) research. SARET uses a modular web-based curriculum and mentored research placements to activate doctoral and masters level students’ interest in SUD-related research careers.

An interdisciplinary initiative, SARET trains future physicians, nurses, dentists, social workers, and public health professionals.

Become a SARET champion at your institution!

Participating in SARET's mentored research experience has an enduring impact on trainees' interest in SUD research. To develop this capacity at your institution, NYU is accepting applications for SARET's Visiting Mentor Development Program.

Spend a week in NYC training to be a SARET champion at your institution. Mentors will receive ongoing technical assistance and guidance, tailored to their institutional context, to help develop related programs at their schools.

PROGRAM DETAILS

DATES: June 4-7, 2024

LOCATION: New York University

COST: Tuition and ongoing mentorship is free. Applicant must cover travel costs.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants should meet the following criteria to apply:

1)  Evidence of interest in substance use disorders and research

2)  Commitment to and experience teaching

3)  Letter of support from home institution

4)  Must represent one of the following health- related professions: medicine, dentistry, nursing, social work or public health

Coming in early 2024, NEJM AI will evaluate cutting-edge AI applications transforming health care today. NEJM AI will publish original research, case studies, perspectives, policy commentary, and novel protocols and study designs.

Take part in shaping the responsible integration of AI within the health care system and contribute your work to NEJM AI.

Through a grant to Wiki Education from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) program, successful programs are eligible for $750 stipends to faculty & student teams that successfully design and implement Wiki editing assignments/courses.
