AAMC Nurturing Experiences for Tomorrow’s Community Leaders (NEXT) Grant - DEADLINE: APRIL 3, 2023

Applications are due April 3 for the AAMC Nurturing Experiences for Tomorrow’s Community Leaders (NEXT) Grant. Successful applicants will propose projects that seek to develop or enhance health and health care initiatives for learners to confront racism and advance health equity in partnership with local communities. The AAMC will award five grants to member institutions that represent accredited medical schools and teaching hospitals, and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited U.S. residency programs, each of which will receive up to $40,000 to support the development or expansion of experiential community-partnered learning opportunities involving medical students, residents, or both.

The Gold Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2023-25 Picker Gold Graduate Medical Education (GME) Challenge Grant Program. The program provides 18-month grants of between $15,000 and $25,000 to support the research and development of innovative projects within the graduate medical education (GME) setting. We are specifically interested in projects that include a focus on the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism. View the eligibility details

2023/2024 Gold Humanism Scholars at the Harvard Macy Institute Program for Educators - DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2023

The Gold Foundation invites faculty to apply for the 2023/2024 Gold Humanism Scholars at the Harvard Macy Institute Program for Educators.

Preference will be given to candidates who embody the qualities of a humanistic educator and role model, including: 

  • Central role in physician and/or nursing education in home institution. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering humanism, empathy, compassion, and the highest standards of professionalism. 
  • Promise/potential as a leader in medical or nursing education. 

The Gold Foundation is particularly interested in supporting projects that:  

  • Cultivate humanism, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and professionalism. 
  • Integrate specialties & disciplines within healthcare & are inter-professional. 
  • Include a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.

The Alliance for Clinical Education Louis N. Pangaro Medical Educator Award - NOMINATION DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2023

The Alliance for Clinical Education (ACE) is pleased to announce that nominations are open for a new national award, The Alliance for Clinical Education Louis N. Pangaro Medical Educator Award.    Consistent with the ACE charter, the award recognizes faculty who have made sustained contributions in clinical education to building inter-clerkship collaboration beyond one’s own medical specialty.

2024 Pew Biomedical Scholars Grant Program - NOMINATION DEADLINE: MAY 17, 2023

The Pew Charitable Trusts is accepting nominations for the 2024 Pew Biomedical Scholars grant program. The award will provide scholars with $75,000 a year for a four-year period toward their research endeavors at NYMC. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, May 17, 2023, and we invite you to email pre-proposal materials (including a research project summary and CV) to the Office of Research Administration (ORA) by Monday, May 1, 2023. ORA will submit these materials to an internal selection committee for consideration for nomination. Pew Biomedical Scholars application opens June 12, 2023, and final applications are due September 7, 2023.

Individuals who are appointed to the rank of assistant professor after June 12, 2019, are eligible for this award.

LEADERSHIP FOR WOMEN PHYSICIANS - DEADLINE: MARCH 3, 2023

AMWA ELEVATE Certificate in Leadership for Women Physicians is designed to enhance career satisfaction and equity by imparting practical leadership skills (and more) deemed critical for professional advancement.  

Participants will experience a dynamic, innovative, 6-month competency-focused program tailored to meet the specific needs of women in medicine.
