SOM Peer to Peer Resources

Peer-to-peer support is provided for first and second year medical school courses, as well as third year clerkships. Each student is allowed 2 hours per week. Peer learning partners (PLPs) are at least one year ahead and are paid an hourly rate by NYMC Academic Support for their services. 

To improve how PLPs are requested and appointments are made, we have switched to a scheduling system.

• First time users need to register for an account. Only the white boxes are available times. All students are allowed up to 2 hours per week. Sessions cannot be held and booked on the same day to allow PLPs time to prepare. Online consultations are available directly through this system.

Can’t find someone who wants to study in groups? Sign a Study Partner Match: Waiver of Confidentiality (see below) to be matched up with a student from your course also looking for a study partner! Available throughout the year. Please email your completed form to academicsupport@nymc.edu.

Need a place to study? Book our resource room! There are many high yield study resource books available for your use while in the room, tons of white board space, a desktop computer, tables and chairs, and extension cords for you to plug in your laptops. The room can be reserved for 2 hour blocks M-F from 9-5 for individual studying, group studying, or peer learning partner meetings. Email academicsupport@nymc.edu for more information.
